Child Missing in Education
Process
If your child is absent from school and we have not received any notification from you (parent/carer), a text will be sent to you (parent/carer) which will then be followed up with a phone call if there is no response.

If your child has been missing from school for 3 days and no contact has been received or made with their parent/carer, we will follow the following steps:

Contact the Education Welfare Officer to conduct a home visit.

If we are unable to contact the EWO we will call the Police for a ‘safe and well’ check. We will provide the child’s date of birth, the last day they attended school, why we are concerned about their non-attendance and any other concerns we may have.

If the Police are unable to respond, we will contact the Head of the EWO service.
